The “indie sampler” continues with Robert Kirkman & Cory Walker’s refreshingly superheroic “Invincible,” Vol. 1: Family Matters. Also, we bust a gut laughing at stuff in the background that we didn’t even notice the first time around, all while Andy tries his absolute very best to hold back a veritable slew of spoilers.
This week we kick off our “Indie” arc (though, you know, Dark Horse and Image are less “indie” as much “Not DC or Marvel”). We summon up Hellboy: Seed of Destruction by the super talented creator/artist/writer Mike Mignola. Seriously, this guy is pretty good. We talk a bit about the movie that’s supposedly based loosely on this comic, and cover all the normal bases.
We conclude our 4-part Alan Moore arc with volume one of the Saga of the Swamp Thing, covering issues 21 through 27. And, I gotta tell ya: Swampy’s got some beautiful hair.
