We take it back old school to 1966 to read the first appearance of one of the Marvel Universe’s biggest baddies by reading a trio of issues from Stan Lee & Jack Kirby’s original run on the Fantastic Four. “The Galactus Trilogy” spans issues 48 through 50. It’s fraught with great line art, poor coloring, and one hell of a dysfunctional team dynamic — not to mention the end of the world. 071 – The Eternals
Our space-entity thingymajig series continues with this 2006 re-imagining of Jack Kirby’s “Eternals.” This new take, rendered in rich character by Neil Gaiman and John Romita Jr., was Marvel’s attempt to make these characters once more a part of their universe. Mostly, it’s a fine attempt, and at the very least, it reinforces Marvel’s idea that in the vastness of space, “good” and “bad” can be relative terms.
