I'm not so sure CDs are still here, Brian. Before the digital download, CDs were heading toward $12-$14 in price. Now they're back up to $16-$18 because of profit loss. And when's the last time you actually bought a CD? I can't even remember. When I do, it's only because I want the deluxe multi-disc edition of something I really, really love. Happens maybe once or twice a year. Otherwise, I am purely digital these days.

Consider the demise of music store chains like Tower Records. Those kinds of shops don't exist anymore, decimated because of digital sales. The only music shops you still see mostly garner profit through re-sale of used items (because they're cheaper to buy than digital). And those stores only exist in major cities.

Everyone said the same thing about .mp3s eliminating CDs, but they're still here and don't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

I say let it march on. I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. I've tried digital comics on my computer and the experience is not even close. My main motivation for reading comics is the stories, which I could still get digitally, but I love my Wednesday ritual. Its something I look forward to every week. And the interactions with other geeks is the reason I end up at my Local Comic Shop more than once a week, even if I'm not buying anything. I'm confident that print comics will be around for years to come and, like you, I hope that the new digital medium for comics is boon for the industry.

Isn't it gonna be *cold*?! Where are you thinking of staying?

Since the school is letting us go free this spring break, I'm seriously considering it...

I like the article's take. Rather than indulgences, make a difference. One teaches self control the other teaches mental hygiene.
